The SoHanCo Livestockers 4-H Club met Sunday, February 10 at the home of Rick and Anna Johnson. 9 members were present. The constitution was reviewed and new members were welcomed. The officers were elected as follows: President, Cody Light; Vice President, Felicia Johnson; Secretary, Hannah Johnson; Treasurer, Devin Roth; Reporter, Mycala Kloepel; Safety Leader, Brett Kloepel; Health Leader, Lani Roth; Litter Agent, Haylie Bonnell; and Photographer, Megan Johnson. Bill Johnson gave a program on Parliamentary Procedure. New members are being accepted for those children interested in raising livestock, other projects may be taken after their animal project. Next meeting will be February 24 at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Cody Light.
The Rocky Ford Guys & Gals 4-H Club met February 6, 2008. Tyler Brown called the meeting to order. Tyler Brown led the Pledge of Allegiance and Deb Brown led the 4-H Pledge. Lindsay Rinker took attendance and read the minutes from the last meeting. Jacob Brown gave treasury report. Under Old Business: A motion was made by Tyler Brown and seconded by Stephen Travoli to pay the outstanding expenses. Under New Business: Enrollment fees of $2.00 are due March 6. Some nominations for club offices have made. Voting will take place February 18. Junior Fair theme for 2008 is Blue Jeans and Country Dreams. Fruit sale forms are to be picked up February 13. Ryan Scheifer’s name was drawn for the frog candy prize. Drinks and snacks for next meeting will be provided by Lindsay Rinker. Thomas Wolford moved to adjourn the meeting and Stephen Travoli seconded the motion. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
The Dirt Don’t Hurt 4-H Club met February 21, 2008 at Jill Heidlebaugh’s house. Attendance was taken by Sydney Powell by saying what we had for supper, 7 members were present. The officers were elected as follows: President, Rachel DeWeese; Vice President, Katie Jones; Secretary & Treasurer, Sydney Powell; Reporter & Historian, Anna Reese; Chaplain, Kelsey Reese; Recreation, Kelsey Powell; and Health/Safety Leader, Danielle Powell. Old Business discussion was the Easter Rose sale, the Endowment Auction and what to donate and dues. Under New Business we discussed the Endowment Auction, collection of enrollment forms, candy bar sales, dates of Quality Assurance, and the Frozen Food Sale. Next meeting will be held at Jill Heidlebaugh’s house, March 20, at 7:30 p.m.

The club is forming committees for the year. Lindsay Rinker is chair for the Fair Booth. 4-H Endowment Dinner and Auction will be held April 12th at the Lighthouse (Tickets 20.00 for adults and 10.00 for youth) We need to donate 3 items.. Susan Rinker said she would bring candy. Quality Assurance will be held May 28th at Van Buren High School. July 14-18 is 4-H Camp for Hancock County. Demonstrations for the next meeting are Olivia Sattler and Lindsay Rinker. Travoli's will provide drinks and snacks for the next meeting.
The Riverbend 4-H Club met Thursday, February 21 at 7:00 PM at the home of Celia Harper. Katie Wallace led the pledge of allegiance, and Corrine Heflinger led the 4-H pledge. All members present took turns introducing themselves. The annual candy bar fundraiser was discussed. Information was given out about the county frozen food sale. Members were encouraged to attend Quality Assurance and the LEAD conference. A committee to finish the endowment auction baskets will be formed, and election of officers will take place at the next meeting. With a motion from Abby Carlson and a second from Nicholas Finsel, the meeting was adjourned.
