The SoHanCo Livestockers 4-H Club met Sunday, June 15 at the Rick Johnson barn. Brett Kloeppel led the Pledge of Allegiance and Maria led the 4-H Pledge. Roll call was McDonalds or Subway. Devin Roth gave the treasurer's report. Under old business camp registrations are due and livestock judging will be June 19 at the fairgrounds. Fair books were passed out. Hannah Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting. Mycala Kloeppel gave a demonstration on how to make a twisty hair do. Mason Waltz was welcomed as a guest. The program was conducted by Rick and Bill Johnson on how to fill out a livestock judging card, terminology, and what to look for and where to find it on an animal. The group then judged some animals. The next meeting will be July 13 at the Bill Johnson farm at 2:30. The group will have Barnyard Olympics and will fill out their fair entry sheets.
The Pride of Pleasant 4-H Club met June 22,2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Lori and Brandon Anspach's house. There were 11 members present. Brandon Anspach led the American Pledge while Zach Johnson led the 4-H Pledge. Roll call was taken by Lori Anspach with something fun the member will be doing this summer. Emily Anderson then gave the treasurer's report which was accepted by Sam Johnson and seconded by Madison Shaffer. Old business discussed was judging schedules, Quality Assurance, our fair booth, online registration, Skill-a-thon, Dairy Feeder ear-tagging, Livestock forms, Royalty applications, 4-H day at Cedar Point, and contests. New business discussed was T-shirts. The meeting was adjourned by Emily Anderson and seconded by Sam Johnson. Taylor and Jacob Allen, and Sam Johnson gave demonstrations. Our next meeting will be Sunday, July 20, 3:00 p.m. at the Anspach's. Anderson's will provide snack and demonstrations will be given by Emily Anderson.
The Dirt Don’t Hurt 4-H Club met Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the home of Anna Mars. Katie Jones called the meeting to order and led the pledges. For attendance we said our least favorite vegetables with 6 members present. Old Business discussed was the t-shirts and sizes. New Business discussed was judges luncheon, 4-H booth, and tractor washing. Advisors answered questions about judging dates. Demonstration were given by Anna Mars, how to care for a rabbit and Katie Jones, how to care for a chinchilla. Our recreation was Guess Who? Snacks provided by Anna Mars and drinks by Katie Jones. Kelsey Reese moved to adjourn the meeting and Sydney Powell seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned.
The Riverbend 4-H Club met June 23, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. The meeting took place at the Dougherty residence. The pledges were recited, then attendance was taken. Members responded with what they ate for breakfast, and a total of 10 members were present. The minutes were read by Mrs. Dougherty, and one correction was made. They were then approved with a motion from Shelby and a second by Faith. Under old business, three members went to project workshops, and two went to the livestock judging contest. About eight members will be attending 4-H camp. The club's service projects were discussed. Shift times had not yet been received for Findlay's KidsFest, and it was decided that the club should help fix up the fairgrounds when the opportunity becomes available. Tentative dates were set for the club's field trip to Bee's & Bison Farm, and for the pool party. The next meeting date was set for sometime during the week of July 7. The meeting was adjourned with a motion from Erin and a second by Faith. Erin gave a demonstration of how to make a flip-flop bookmark. Melissa brought muffins for snack.
The His Kids 4-H Club met on June 27th at 10:30 a.m. at the Bright Road Church of Christ. There were 13 members present and one guest. Pledges were lead by Tiffany and Laura. Members answered roll call by sharing their favorite toy. Demonstrations were by Annie, April, Sam, Story and Laura. We even had a chance to see two live Alpacas! For recreation Megan lead a game of Nervous. More ideas for service projects were discussed. Members were reminded about the opportunity for mock judging coming up at the next meeting. The advisors reported about the health bowl that Megan and Daniel participated in. The next meeting will be July 18, 2008. Demonstrations will be shared by Isaac and Megan. Refreshments will be brought by Story.
