The SoHanCo Livestockers 4-H Club met Sunday, May 4. Cody Light called the meeting to order. Megan Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance and Alana Roth led the 4-H Pledge. Members answered roll call by a saying a kind of car or truck. Junior Fair entries are due at the next meeting. Under old business everyone was reminded to work on their projects. Brett Kloeppel moved to adjourn the meeting.
The Millstream Farmers 4-H Club held a meeting on Wednesday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at VBHS. The meeting was called to order by President Lacy Allen and started with the pledges. Secretary Amanda Couchot took roll call and read the minutes. Brooke Rehus gave the treasurers report and it was approved. Old business was discussed as the following: dues are $5.00 and should be paid to the treasurer; we need 2 members to volunteer to set up and clean up the room for each meeting, May 3 was the March of Dimes Walk, holding a meeting at the Triple T Bed & Breakfast on TR 215 in Findlay. New business discussed included hosting a petting zoo, and the North Baltimore Library July 12 and asking the Rocky Ford Guys and Gals Club to join us, the sunflower and pumpkin growing contest for children 5-8 years old, providing judges lunches, upcoming project workshops, Quality Assurance May 28 at Van Buren. Officer reports were given by Health Officer Matthew LaFontaine on eating at your favorite restaurant, by Safety Officer Sarah Robb on internet safety, and by Energy Officer Kevin Robb on recycling. Advisor Beth Marshall also gave a safety tip on making sure that dressers in children’s rooms be secured to the wall to avoid tipping over. Event reports were given about the litter pick up and pizza party at Litzenberg, the March of Dimes Walk and Quality Assurance at Cory Rawson. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served by Emily & Josh Ward and Taryn Bregel. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 21, 6:30 p.m. at the VBHS Community Room.
The Riverbend 4-H Club met on May 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Celia Harper's home. Attendance was taken with members answering roll call with their favorite movie. A total of 20 members were present. The club's March of Dimes team was recognized for their fund-raising efforts. The next meeting date was set for Monday, June 2nd at the Spahr home. The club voted on service projects and field trips. Painting a barn at the fairgrounds, and volunteering at the KidsFest came in first and second for service projects, visiting a bison farm won the education field trip spot, and a pool party was set for the fun trip. Corrine gave a demonstration on how to make a pincushion, Jasmine on how to make a healthy breakfast smoothie, and Faith on keeping sliced fruit fresh. Refreshments were provided by Corrine and Katie W.

Skillathon will be held July 21, make up skillathon will be July 28, Livestock Judging will be June 19, and Demonstration Contest will be July 9, make posters now. The last quality assurance sessions will be May 28 at Van Buren and June 26 at Central Church of Christ in Findlay. Market goat weigh-in will be June 14 from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Schenia and Felicia gave a demonstration their swine projects. Next meeting is June 15.
The Pride of Pleasant 4-H Club met on May 18,2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Lori and Brandon Anspach's house. There was a total of 12 members present. Chelsea Mason led the American pledge and Rachael Shaffer led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was taken by Alyssa Hunker and was answered by what the members favorite food is. Alyssa Hunker read the secretary's report and Emily Anderson read the treasurer's report and the reports were accepted by Zach Johnson and seconded by Emily Anderson. Old business that was discussed were Quality Assurance, 4-H camp, the fair booth, and our money making project. New business discussed was camps, contests, online registration for livestock projects and contests, skill-a-thon, workshops, sheep and goat weigh-ins, ear-tagging dairy feeders, forms and applications, and Cedar point day. Then we chose to give a $25 donation to buy lunches for judges, it was moved by Chelsea Mason and seconded by Brandon Anspach. The meeting was adjourned by Brandon Anspach and seconded by Chelsea Mason. Chelsea Mason, Madison Shaffer, Rachael Shaffer, Ashley Hunker, and Alyssa Hunker gave demonstrations. Madison Shaffer led us in a game of secret 4-Her. We had a Little Ceasers guy come and tell us about selling their pizza kits and we decided to sell their products. Our next meeting will be on June 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Anspach's. Snack will be provided by the Johnson's with demonstrations by Jacob and Taylor Allen.
The WOW Unicycle 4-H Club held its monthly meeting Sunday, May 18 in the afternoon at Eppler gym in Bowling Green. We discussed upcoming events on our calendar, such as Parades, our fair booth, and show to be done at the fair. We also reviewed a past decision to amend our bylaws to accommodate siblings. Project books and officer books were distributed to members.
The His Kids 4-H Club met May 16th at the Bright Road Church of Christ. Sixteen members were present. Demonstrations were given by Tiffany on scrapbooking, Wayne on model cars, and Kaitlyn on sewing. For roll call our favorite animals were given. Old business discussed was the Heroes 4-H camp (which everyone loved and can't wait to go back in the fall), Rose Sale, Community service, and the individual honor award application. New business was also discussed. Last date to drop projects is June 1st. The project workshops will now be June 12th and June 18th. The club members looked at ideas for the fair booth and worked together to come up with a final idea. Megan had recreation. The next meeting will be June 27th at the same location.

Old business discussed included club dues, the petting zoo at North Baltimore Library July 12th, sunflower and pumpkin growing contest for 5-8 year olds, and the upcoming project workshops on June 10th and June 18th. New business discussed was Quality Assurance, members were reminded that they need to attend Q.A. and the last two left are May 28th at Van Buren and June 26th at Central Church of Christ in Findlay. The Fishing Derby will be held again July 26th during North Baltimore's Good Old Summer Time Days. Members are asked to donate a door prize or cash. Our 2008 seniors were recognized and each one told a little bit about their 4-H experience over the years and what 4-H meant to them. The seniors are as follows Lacy Allen, Jenny Kaltenbach, Chase Marshall, Shanna Martinez and Codi Rehus. Cake was served in their honor. Officer reports were given by Health Officer Kyle Dennis on limiting the amount of high fructose corn syrup in your daily diet, and by Energy Officer Taryn Bregel on how kids can help to save energy. Alexandra McGrain, Camp Counselor gave a talk about how much fun 4-H Camp Rocks is going to be and invited all the members and their friends ages 8-14 to sign up to go the week of July 14-18. Members were reminded of upcoming events and that our next meeting will be held June 11th at 6:30 p.m. at the Triple T Bed & Breakfast. The meeting was adjourned and then demonstrations were given by the following members Taryn Bregel on Gliding Stars and the special equipment and skates that the skaters use to help them; Emily Ward on her mother cat and kittens and different breeds of cats; Harley Ganshow on sign language and how to do the alphabet; and Kyle Dennis on the different parts of an engine.
The Hancock Hareraisers 4-H Club met on May 18th, 2008 at the United Methodist Church of McComb. Once the meeting was called to order, we said the pledges, and read the secretary and treasurer's report. Then we discussed our Relay for Life walking and breakfast schedules. We also discussed future times for Quality Assurance. July 21st is the Skill-a-thon, with July 28th being the make-up date. There is a Health and Safety speaking contest on June 17th; camp registration is due on June 16th. August 23rd is when the Hareraisers start building our Fair Booth. After all that, we had some of our member's do their demonstrations, and we finished with Roll Call.
On May 18, 2008 the Gold Star 4-H Club held their fourth meeting at the Riley Creek Baptist Church. The theme for this meeting was Truck Day and the role call had you name your favorite truck brand.
