Forms Required for the Fair

DUNF -- for all market animals.  This form is triplicate copy; therefore, it cannot be downloaded.  It is available from advisors, at the Extension Office or at the Junior Fair Board Office on July 14 and 15. This form MUST be filled out completely and accurately and MUST be signed by the exhibitor AND a parent/guardian (unless the exhibitor is 18 or older).

Quality Assurance and Skillathons

Quality Assurance for all species will be held in Adams County on May 9 and 10.

Market Goat exhibitors may receive Quality Assurance certification for attending the Market Goat Clinic at the fairgrounds on March 17, from 9 a.m. - Noon.

Market Hog exhibitors may receive Quality Assurance certification for attending the Market Hog Clinic at the fairgrounds on March 3 from 9 a.m. - Noon.

Youth may receive Quality Assurance certification for attending an approved Quality Assurance program in a neighboring county. Contact the Extension Office for a list of approved programs.

Participation is an approved quality assurance program OR successfully testing out of quality assurance (for Intermediates 12-14 years of age and Seniors 15 and older) is required for members in beef, dairy, goats, poultry, rabbits (market and breeding only), sheep, and swine projects who wish to exhibit animals in the 2012 Adams County or Ohio State Fairs. Note:  QA is not required for dog and horse, or horseless project members.

Test out sessions will be scheduled by FFA Advisors at Manchester, North Adams, Peebles, and West Union High Schools and at the OVCTC. Please check with your school's FFA Advisor or listen for announcements if you're interested in taking the test. (Note if you passed the test in 2010 or 2011 and are still in the same age division, you do not need to take the test again this year!) And, if you pass the test, then you do not need to attend a quality assurance program this year!

Quality Assurance will be conducted in conjunction with the annual Skillathons at the OVCTC. Skillathons for all species, including beef, dairy, goats, horse, poultry, rabbits (market and breeding only), sheep, and swine projects. Skillathon participation is optional for horseless horse project members and is not required for dog, cat, pet rabbit, pocket pet, or other small animal projects.

Skillathons will run from 3:30-8:30 p.m. on May 9 and 10 at the OVCTC. Please come as your schedule permits. Quality Assurance sessions will be conducted as follows. You may attend any session, but content targets small or large market animal species each night as noted in the schedule.
