Registrations for this event are due February 6, contact Cassie Turner if you have questions regarding this conference.

The 8th Annual Ohio 4-H Teen Conference will be held on Saturday, March 10th at the Columbus Convention Center. It is again being held in conjunction with the Ohio Volunteer Conference - sessions are designated for youth or adults.

Teen conference participants will enjoy a special luncheon speaker; have the opportunity to choose from over 80 leadership and educational sessions; participate in a community service activity; and meet teens from all over Ohio.

Registration scholarships are available to the first 10 applicants. (A $10 deposit is required from teens, and the remainder will be paid by sponsors.)

Collegiate 4-H at The Ohio State University is once again sponsoring the "4-H Plowboy Prom" on March 10th from 6-10 pm at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus OH 43210.  Admission is $5 per person or $3 with a BuckID card.  Come join us for square dancing, line dancing, cake walks, refreshments, and door prizes!

The Sheep and Goat WebEx Series will replace the “District” Sheep and Goat Program series which was started in 2001. The 2012 Sheep and Goat WebEx Series will concentrate on Sheep and Goat Health Programs and we will be offering a wide variety of health related topics and speakers in several extension offices across the state of Ohio. In 2012, we are offering fourteen (14) Sheep and Goat WebEx sites, one (1) live site and thirteen (13) remote sites which sheep and goat farmers can attend to get updated on sheep and goat health programs.

Since this is a Sunday, the date for 2012 is Monday, April 2nd. Link to 4-H member enrollment form

Completed 4-H enrollment forms are to be submitted to the 4-H office (OSU Extension, Hancock County) no later than April 2nd by club advisors.

Advisors should check all information for accuracy.

All project changes are due in writing by June 1st.

Instructions for completing Enrollment Forms:

  • Please use pen and print clearly!
  • If you are in more than one club, a form must be completed for each club - please list your name exactly the same on each form
  • Address should be the one used by the US Postal Service. Include house number, road or street, post office box if appropriate, town, & zip code. Include parent's address in appropriate area.
  • Include e-mail address & notify office staff if that address is changed during the course of the year
  • Parent signature is a must!
  • Write parent's names as they should appear in any 4-H publication.
  • Include club name and number on form.
  • Please write name of office held if appropriate.
  • Ages should be as of January 1, 2012

An experienced livestock judge officiates the contest and provides instructional review of all classes judged. Recognition is given to high scoring participants. The event will be held at the Dr. C. Richard Beckett Animal Sciences Building (this is located 7 miles south of Findlay on State Rt 68 (West side of the road)

Participants are NOT required to have a livestock project.

Participants can enter both Individual and Team competition.

Hancock Co. Contest is divided into Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels.

Out-of-County contestants are welcomed. These participants will be scored as a separate category from the Hancock County contest.
