Hancock County Jr. Fair requires all 4-H members enrolled in horse projects to submit a Horse ID card each year. In addition, members who lease a horse for their project must also submit a lease agreement.

Midwest Professional Nutrient Applicators Workshop

Legal issues regarding manure hauling as well as issues surrounding equipment inspections and highway safety will be discussed by Ohio State University experts and others during a joint workshop and meeting of the Midwest Professional Nutrient Applicators Association on June 11 at the Hancock County Agricultural Service Center. In this contest, 4-H members evaluate and rank livestock for market or breeding value. An experienced livestock judge officiates the contest and provides instructional review of all classes judged. Recognition is given to high scoring participants.

The Ohio State University has begun a new fund-raising campaign to support students from all 88 Ohio counties. The "Ohio Scholarship Challenge" seeks to raise $100 million in general undergraduate scholarship funds for Ohio State students at all campuses. This Challenge is also part of the university’s larger effort to raise $500 million in private funds for student financial aid and scholarships. The Ohio Scholarship Challenge honorary co-chairs are Ohio State head football Coach Urban Meyer and men’s basketball Coach Thad Matta.
