A series of food preservation classes will be held in June and July at the Hancock County Agricultural Service Center. $1 registration fee is payable at the door and community garden participants can attend at no charge. To register, call 419-422-3851. Free pressure canner testing available 30 minutes before & after classes - only gauge-type canners need to be checked for accuracy (bring the pressure cooker lid only)

Melanie Gerlach, Program Coordinator for Hancock County Saves has scheduled several Basic Budgeting Classes in May and June. The class costs $10 but scholarship funds are available for individuals who are referred by a local non-profit agency.

Ohio State Launches Ohio Scholarship Challenge
The Ohio State University has begun a new fund-raising campaign to support students from all 88 Ohio counties. The "Ohio Scholarship Challenge" seeks to raise $100 million in general undergraduate scholarship funds for Ohio State students at all campuses. This Challenge is also part of the university’s larger effort to raise $500 million in private funds for student financial aid and scholarships. The Ohio Scholarship Challenge honorary co-chairs are Ohio State head football Coach Urban Meyer and men’s basketball Coach Thad Matta.
