Folder Southwest Ohio Corn Growers Association
The SWOCGA was organized in 1983 as a group of farmers and agri-business persons interested in determining which hybrids provided the most consistent yields season after season. In order to quantify their curiosity they developed a side by side strip-trial as their methodology to test the different hybrids. Over time, their hybrid test plots were found to be useful not only for their committee but also by area farmers as well. This test has been improved over the years to include a more rigorously designed randomized block, six separate locations, and statistical analysis of the results. In 2006, their test was expanded to include soybeans, which are tested at 3 locations in Central and Southern Ohio.

Folder Agriculture Hall of Fame
The Fayette County Agriculture Hall of Fame was formed in 2000 to recognize and promote those individuals that have made significant contributions to the agriculture community in Fayette County. Board members are volunteers from the agricultural community representing: producers, agri-business, the Fayette County Camber of Commerce, and the Fayette County Historical Society. To date, 27 individuals have been inducted into the Hall. Although all the inductees have contributed to improving agricultural practices in the Fayette County community, they have stood out with their unselfish community service activities. Inductees, and their families, are recognized at the annual induction ceremony held in December.
Folder Research Farm
History of the Fayette County Demonstration Farm In 1990, then Fayette County agricultural agent Larry Lotz, partnered with the Fayette County Commissioners to establish the Fayette County Research and Demonstration farm on the site of the former Fayette County Children's Home. The 20 acre site has been used to test and showcase new technologies in the production of corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa.

The Southwest Ohio Corn Growers Association, in conjunction with the Fayette County Agronomy Committee, will hold their annual field day and test plot demonstrations on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. The event will be held at the Fayette County Demonstration Farm, located north of Washington CH on State Route 38, adjacent to the Fayette County Airport. The field day hosts over 300 agricultural producers from across the State of Ohio each year.

Folder Pesticide Applicator Recertification
Each farmer is required to obtain 3.0 hours of continuing education every 3 years or take a written examination to maintain a valid license. Recertification opportunities for farmers are available in Fayette County on February 15, 1:00 p.m. at the Agricultural Center Building 1415 US Rte 22 SW Wash. CH. OH.
