State Horse Volunteer Training

As the new 4-H year is now underway, I would like to send out a reminder that our Equine 4-H Advisor/Volunteer Training Session will be held on Jan 28. This session will include updates for the 2012 4-H Horse Program in addition to various presentations on horse management topics that will be useful to 4-H advisors, educators, and horse owners. The registration deadline is Jan. 15 and more information can be found at horse.osu.edu under calendar of events. Calling all Cloverbuds

Any youth age 5 (as of January 1, 2012) and in Kindergarten to 7 and in second grade are welcome to attend our next County Cloverbud Meeting.  We will be making a special treat and learning about some cool things that happen in winter time.  The meeting will be February 2nd at 6:15 to 7:15 at the Extension Office.  New members are welcome!

Junior Leaders Organizing for 2012

January 18th will be the next Junior Leaders meeting at the Extension Office 7-8:30 p.m.  Program planning for the year, election of officers, enrollment information, committee sign up, and some fun activities await.

Achievement Records/State 4-H Scholarship Due January 17th 

Youth at least 14 years old are encouraged to complete a State Achievement Award form to be eligible for State Honors, Trips, and State Camps.  Forms are available at www.ohio4h.org.  Forms are due by the end of the business day on January 17th.

Advisor KickOff is January 28th! 

Lots of info, enrollment packs, food, fun, and door prizes await!  Registration will begin at 8:30, the opening at 9:00 a.m., and we will conclude at noon.  Each club needs to have at least one advisor attend the Kickoff.  There will be a make up on January 30th at 6:30 p.m.  This meets the Advisor Training requirement for the year!

4-H Advisory Council Meeting is January 24th at 7:00 p.m.

We will be organizing for the 2012 program year.  There will be a meal provided prior to the meeting.  New members are asked to come at 5:30 for orientation.  A packet will be in the mail to Council members next week.

Oodles of Noodles – pasta making class

January 20th 3:30 p.m. at the Extension Office.  Cost is only $5.00 per person.  Check out the flyer on our web site for more details.  Great opportunity to start working on 4-H projects.

Quality Assurance training for Jr Fair Livestock Exhibitors will be held Saturday, May 19th at the Hancock County Agricultural Service Center, 7868 CR 140 Findlay OH. Participants should arrive from 9 - 11 am. The workshop will consist of four 15-minute sessions. Small groups of 15-20 youth will rotate through the stations and then be free to go.
