4-H Advisory Council

The 4-H Advisory Council consists of 22 adults and 11 teens. The Council works closely with the Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development to plan and direct 4-H programs in Hancock County.

2012 Meeting Dates:
January 24 * March 27 * May 22 * July 24 * September 25 * November 27

All meetings begin at 7 pm, and are held at the Hancock County Agricultural Service Center

The 4-H Advisory Council consists of:

  • Two adults residing within school districts from which they are to represent. They are to be selected by the 4-H advisors from that school district at the Annual 4-H  Volunteer Appreciation Banquet (Nov. 14 in Brugeman Lodge at Riverbend Park) .
  • One teenage 4-H member from each of the school districts elected by all 4-H advisors from that school district at the Annual 4-H Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.
  • Two representatives from the Hancock County Junior Leadership Club.
  • Four 4-H Advisors at Large (replacements to be elected at the Annual 4-H Volunteer Appreciation Banquet).

Adult committee members shall serve a term of three calendar years. They must be off the committee one year between terms, unless a replacement cannot be found.

Teenage committee members will serve a one-year term and not more than two consecutive terms.

Welcome Cassie Turner
Cassie Turner has joined the staff at OSU Extension Hancock County as an Extension Educator 4-H Youth Development. Cassie began working on October 1st and fills the vacancy left by Susan Russell who retired in June.

The 8th Annual Ohio 4-H Teen Conference and the Ohio 4-H Volunteer Conference which includes the Bob Evans Farms 4-H Recognition Luncheon will be held March 10th at the Columbus Convention Center. All older youth are encouraged to take part in this exciting event. Registration deadline is February 6th - and information is available at the Ohio 4-H web site.
