Check out a fun way to make friends. Explore youth camping opportunities available through 4-H. Many camps are open to all youth, regardless of 4-H membership. Hancock County has provided an outstanding Jr Camp (for campers 8-14 years of age) for MANY years!

Family Fun

  • Olde Fashioned Thanksgiving - November 5 at 4-H Camp Ohio, 10 am - 4 pm. Highlights include Native American & Pioneer living history that come alive with candle-dipping, basket weaving demonstrations, antique farm equipment, wood carving, shooting, musketloading, kids crafts, and much more! Prices for entrance & the meal are $15 for ages 12 and older; $7 for ages 7-11; Free for age 6 & under; Gate entrance (no meal) $7 for ages 12 and older; $4 for ages 7-11; free for age 6 and under. Prizes are awarded for those wearing the best pilgrim, pioneer, and Native American attire.

4-H Camp Ohio Adventure Tower Fundraising Effort

  • 5K Trail Run/Walk - November 12 at 4-H Camp Ohio, All proceeds go to the adventure tower fund, Preregister by Oct. 22 at $35 and be guaranteed a quick dry shirt. after Oct. 22 fee is $40. Lunch is $10 and must be pre-registered. Sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Missy Kidwell at 419-946-3047 or 419-560-0596. 4-H Camp Ohio is near St Louisville, OH (approx. 10 miles East of Utica), and is an American Camp Association accredited camp. Click here for visit the Camp Ohio web site.

Dates are not yet set - but possibly late June.

All youth age 8 and in the 3rd grade, through age 14 years old (as of January 1) are invited to attend. 

Camp is also offered to non-4-H members - so bring your friends!

Cost of camp is approx. $140. Pictures will be included in the camp fee this year. Camp CD's may be purchased for $3 and may be ordered at the time of registration.

Camp registrations will be accepted until camp is full.

Welcome Cassie Turner
Cassie Turner has joined the staff at OSU Extension Hancock County as an Extension Educator 4-H Youth Development. Cassie began working on October 1st and fills the vacancy left by Susan Russell who retired in June.

The 8th Annual Ohio 4-H Teen Conference and the Ohio 4-H Volunteer Conference which includes the Bob Evans Farms 4-H Recognition Luncheon will be held March 10th at the Columbus Convention Center. All older youth are encouraged to take part in this exciting event. Registration deadline is February 6th - and information is available at the Ohio 4-H web site.
