4-H Enrollment and Completion Requirements
4-H is open to any youth that meets the age requirements! Generally speaking, enrollment is due April 1, and all project changes need to be submitted on or before June 1. Members are required to complete at least one project each year & participate in the evaluation of that project through county 4-H project judging or by a club advisor. Here's a more detailed list of guidelines:
- 4-H is open to any youth that meets the age requirements (8 years old and enrolled in 3rd grade as of January 1 of the current year)
- Members must select at least one project from the list of approved Ohio and Hancock County 4-H projects. (see 2012 Hancock Co. 4-H Family Handbook or Ohio Family Guide)
- Completed Enrollment Forms must be submitted to the 4-H office no later than April 1 by club advisor. (Clubs may earn bonus points toward the Banner Club Award by submitting Enrollment Forms on or before the last friday in March)
- All project changes due in writing by June 1.
- Project books will be distributed by club advisors; most books cost $5, resource manuals and some project books are higher in cost. In many cases, books can be reused when repeating a 4-H project. A new book should be purchased if the project has been "revised" or is listed as "new" . . . in addition, members who plan to enter Ohio State Fair Jr Livestock shows should purchase new project books.
- Project guidelines and judging/exhibit requirements for all projects are listed in Hancock County's 4-H Family Handbook
- Additional rules of importance to 4-H members may be found in the Hancock County Jr Fair Premium book.

- County judging event (varies by project) Link to 2012 schedule
