2012 Hancock County 4-H Horse Guidelines

These guidelines are for 4-H youth and their families. This information is meant to help clarify and be used in conjunction with the Uniform Rules of 4-H Horse Shows as they pertain to Hancock County.

Equine Safety and Ethics Program (including helmet policy)

Permission to Participate in 4-H Horse Activities - disclosure and release of claims - Must be signed by parent or guardian and 4-H member.

2012 Horse I.D. Card and Dead or Disabled Horse Rule - Must have appropriate signatures and be turned in by June 1, 2012 to be eligible for awards at county and state fairs. (This document is designed to print on letter-sized paper then fold in half & complete both sides before submitting)

2011 Hancock County Horse Royalty

Candidates must have completed a minimum of 1 year in the horse department to be eligible. Queen/King = 15-18 years as of 1/1/2011; Princess/Prince = 12-14 years as of 1/1/2011. There is a new fair royalty dress code taking effect in 2011.

Quality Assurance training for Jr Fair Livestock Exhibitors will be held Saturday, May 19th at the Hancock County Agricultural Service Center, 7868 CR 140 Findlay OH. Participants should arrive from 9 - 11 am. The workshop will consist of four 15-minute sessions. Small groups of 15-20 youth will rotate through the stations and then be free to go.
