4-H Camp Paws, Claws, Feathers & Friends

June 25 - 29 - Registration deadline is May 31

9 am - 4 pm at Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus

This is a five day 'day camp' - overnight accommodations are NOT included. If you like animals, meeting new friends and learning more about pets than this may be the right camp for you. Camp size is limited to 24 participants who have not previously attended this camp. Intended for middle school students entering grades 6-8 in the fall of 2012. $175 camp fee includes all supplies, field trip transportation, daily snack, lunch on Friday, and insurance. Campers should bring a sack lunch.

9:30 am at OSU Lima Campus. Participants are invited to attend Maumee Valley's Public Speaking Extravaganza (June 18) as a 'practice' session for this area contest.

4-H Day at Cedar Point

June 29

9:30 a.m. until 2 pm at the 4-H window.  Please have a representative purchase tickets for a club or group. Representatives should have a 4-H membership card or something representing 4-H membership. Individual tickets may also be purchased. 4-H rate ticket prices: $34 discount ticket, $22 Junior/Senior - under 4 ft tall or 62 and older.

Register soon if you are interested in attending this camp. Open to youth entering grades 6, 7 & 8 in the fall of 2012, and limited to the first 24 campers. The $190 fee includes all supplies, overnight accommodations in OSU student dorms, meals, snacks, and insurance.

Come learn through the following activities and challenges:

  • Build and program a robot using a LEGO Mindstorms NXT kit.
  • Design a course for a miniature robot
  • Go on a treasure hunt using a GPS receiver
  • Learn the basics of engineering design by building a bridge and trebuchet
