On March 17, 2019, the Gold Star 4-H Club met at Central Church of Christ at 10:30. Before we started the meeting, we packed a grand total of 43,000 meals that will be shipped to Haiti for Elementary-grade kids’ lunches. Great work and thanks for helping!!! Roll Call, with the question of “What was your favorite thing to do at the food pack?” was taken by Erin Murray, and consisted of 36 members. Pledges were lead by Jacob Anderson. Continue saving aluminum cans and Community Markets/Great Scot receipts for collection at meetings. Demonstrations were done by McKenna Huber, who presented on coloring carnations, Mattie Huber, who presented on how to make pizza in a mug, and Morgan Huber who presented on how to make cake pops. The next meeting will be held at the Orange Township Building at 3:00 p.m. Remember to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, as we are doing a trash pickup before the meeting.

The Gold Star 4-H met 2/17/19 at 3:00pm at the Orange Township Building. The simple roll call of “Here” read by Amelia Mitchell consists of 28 members. Cody Siferd read the treasures report, and the pledges were led by Hailey Siferd. This was the first meeting of the 2019 4-H year. The motion to move next month's meeting to Central Church of Christ, due to the food pack for Lifeline Missions before the meeting is being held, was approved of unanimously. Jill Woodward passed out awards from last 4-H year. Jill Woodward informed us that the cost of the $5 fee, along with one 4-H book for each member was taken care of, due to the money we earned from Community Market’s / Great Scot’s receipts. The Club nominated officers for this 4-H year. Here are the results:

Upcoming events: New member enrollment papers are due back to the advisor at the meeting next month. 4-H Kickoff is March 4th @ the First Presbyterian Church from 6:00-8:00. Quality Assurance is March 12 @ Riverdale Schools at 7:00pm. Please remember to save your aluminum cans and Great Scot/ Community Markets receipts for collection at meetings. L.E.A.D. conference will be March 18 at Cory- Rawson 7:00-8:00pm. The Council strongly advises all officers to be there.
Next meeting will be held at Central Church of Christ, March 17 at 10:45 for food pack. Lunch will be provided for anyone who helps out.

The Gold Star 4-H club met on 3/18/18. Members were asked “what project you wanted to take but your parents would not let you” during roll call. Thirty-six members attended the meeting. Brynn Reece read the minutes from last week. Cody Siferd gave the treasures report. Lexi Roth gave a health tip. Jacob Anderson gave a nutrition tip. Lexi Roth gave a safety tip. Lanie Kempf gave a litter tip. There will be a cake decorating clinic at the extension office on April 9th and 23rd from 6 to 8 pm. Livestock Quality assurance will be on June 2nd at 10:00 at the fairgrounds. 4-H Benefit Dinner will be March 24 at the Sterling Center. Applications due on April 16 for: camp scholarships (including 4-H camp), Shooting Sports Camp scholarships and Academic scholarships. The next meeting will be held on April 15 at 3:00 at the Orange County Township Building. Jill Woodward reviewed honor awards and how to earn them. Amelia Mitchell reviewed the Club Constitution. The club members played human knot. The demonstration awards were given out. A reminder was given about writing thank you notes to livestock buyers at the fair sale. Morgan Huber gave a demonstration on how to dye Easter eggs. Makenna Huber gave a demonstration on how to make ranch oyster crackers. Gabby Webber gave a demonstration on how to make slime. Cody and Hailey Siferd gave a demonstration on how to make balloon bowls. Demonstrations will be done by Mia Gearing, Lanie Kemf, Erin Murray, Mazie Parkens, Justin Rausch and Nolan Webber. Refreshments will be provided by the Anderson, Green, Unereferth and Weber family.

Gold Star 4H club met at the Orange Township Center on July 9, 2017. There were 27 members present. Roll call was your favorite toothpaste. Pledges were led by Lexi Roth. The Health tip was given by Rianna Sturgeon. Nutrition tip by Anna Parkins. Safety tip by Hailey Siferd. The Litter tip was given by Makenzie Gearing.
Demonstrations were given by Erin Murray on Chex Mix. Ike Hixson showed how to make a Milk Jug Birdfeeder. Brynn Reese demonstrated how to make a T-Shirt Scarf. Refreshments were provided by Kizer, Hixson, Gearing, Murray and Elchert families.
Project judging dates and requirements were discussed.
Gold Star will be having a Chicken BBQ fundraiser for Gina Burkholder on August 13 from 11-1. It will be at Orange Township Center. The club members are selling tickets and will be delivering meals during the event.
The next meeting will be August 13 following the Chicken BBQ. Club members will also be cleaning Township building where the meetings are held.
Demonstrations will be Mazie Parkins, Cale Parkins, Anthony Rieman, Justice West, Morgan Huber and Mattie Huber. Refreshments will be Garver, Cupples, Reese and Huber families.

Morgan Huber gave a health tip, nutrition tip was given by Anna Parkins, Hailey Siferd gave a saftey tip, and Makenzie Gearing gave a litter tip.
Here is a list of upcoming events: June 1st is the last day to add or drop a project, Goat weigh-ins and tagging will be June 1st from 6:00-8:00 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, Sheep weigh-ins and taggings will be June 2 from 6:00-8:00 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, Quality Assurance and Livestock Clinics will be June 3 from 10:00am -12:00pm, 4-H camp is June 25-29 at Camp Ohio, Livestock Judging Contest will be June 6 with registration beginning at 9:00am, Contest begins at 9:30am at the University of Findlay Equestrian Farm, State Fair Livestock Entry Deadline is June 20, The State Fair will be held July 27-August 7, Dairy Feeder Mandatory tagging/vaccination and weigh-ins July 15 at 8:00-11:00am in the Buckeye Building at the Fairgrounds.
Demonstrations this meeting were given by Hunter Niese on how to use a kneeboard, Becca Ludwig on yarn bottles, Makenzie Gearing on two camping ideas for you, and Kylie Rausch on Crayon Candles. The next meeting will be held on June 4 at 3:00.

The Gold Star 4-H club had a meeting on April 9, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Orange Township Building. The pledges were led by Lexi Roth. Roll call was to tell the most disgusting thing they found while doing liter pick up and there were 35 members present at this meeting. Morgan Huber gave a health tip, nutrition tip was given by Anna Parkins, Hailey Siferd told a safety tip, and McKenzie Gearing gave a litter tip.
The meeting started off with the club doing liter pick-up as a community service project. They were able to hit several different areas around the township.

The Gold Star 4-H Club will be meeting next on March 12th at 3:00 at the Orange Township Building. Demonstrations will be done by Hailey Siferd, Maia Gearing, Adliyn Gearing, Rianna Sturgeon, and Alana Kizer. Refreshments will be brought by Rausch’s, Ritter, and Mitchell.
Upcoming events are: L.E.A.D. confrence Monday March 13th at Riverdale High School from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and Quality Assurance is March 21st at Van Buren High School at 7:00.
