Members are to return to the Old Mill Stream Centre at 6:30 p.m. that evening and change into their total look for the 4-H Style Review. (If a member has more than one clothing project, he or she will decide which one they will model). There will be a brief modeling practice and line-up for the participants. The Style Review will begin at 7 p.m. Placing for each project will be announced during the review. The members will also be scored on their total look and modeling poise for additional awards. At the end of the evening, nominees for State Fair will be announced. Family and friends are encouraged to attend the Style Review. |
Food & Nutrition Projects:
- Refer to page 27 of the 4-H Family Handbook. Be sure to review the general and project specific guidelines and have all required components (menu, cost analysis, single serving & place setting).
Project Showcase Celebration Information:
As a reminder! All members who participate in the Cake Decorating, Clothing, Food & Nutrition, and Quilt Judging are invited to return to the Project Showcase at the Old Mill Stream Centre, that evening at 7 pm. Members are asked to bring their projects at 6:30 pm. Tables will be available for Cake Decorators, Food Project Members and Quilters to display your work. Members with clothing projects will be participating in the annual style review.
- Quilting Projects: the quilt you made (can be left following the judging). Awards will be determined by experience.
- Clothing Projects: participation in the style review is required to place. Awards will be determined by age.
- Cake Decorating Projects: bring back or leave your cake. Awards will be determined by experience.
- Food Projects: bring your table setting and your portfolio – additional food is not needed. Awards will be determined by age.
We will have people’s choice voting for favorite cake design, quilt, and table setting. Members in the Style Review will participate in the annual modeling contest for total look and presentation. We will be announcing placings for all the day’s projects that night. Parents, grandparents, etc. are invited to attend.
This is not a mandatory event outside of clothing members for the style review, but a fun way to celebrate your 4-Hers efforts.
*Project judging time closes 15 minutes after the last scheduled time to be considered for placing.
