Dining with Diabetes is a cooking school and nutrition education program designed for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes and their family members or caregivers.

Who should attend?

Anyone living with diabetes or pre-diabetes who wants to better understand their disease and desires to improve their blood sugar. Family members or caregivers who help provide meals and/or care to them can also register to take the course.

What will I gain?

  • Watch live cooking demos by Extension Educator, Jennifer Little.
  • Sample delicious food and receive diabetes-friendly recipes.
  • Gain new insights on healthy eating.
  • Learn new skills to manage your diabetes taught by BVHS dietitian, Julie Russell.

How do I register?

Register in person at the OSU Extension Office, by calling 419-422-3851, or online by clicking here. Register by March 28. Payment of check or cash is due by April 3.

Scholarships are available for those receiving SNAP benefits or on Medicaid. Click here for scholarship registration.

Don’t have time for an in-person class?  OSU Extension also offers Dining w/Diabetes:  Beyond the Kitchen, a self-paced FREE online course for those impacted by diabetes.   The course includes:

  • Videos
  • Interactive presentations
  • Fact sheets and resources
  • Short surveys to test knowledge
  • An open forum to share ideas, questions and tips with other course participants
  • The ability to speak with Ohio State Extension professionals
  • Access to websites and apps that help manage diabetes
